Flourish Australia has an exciting opportunity for a General Hand to join our Community Businesses team in Marrickville!

About the position:

  • Casual
  • Working days between Monday and Friday, 7am - 4pm
  • Based at our Marrickville Prestige Packaging site
  • Attractive hourly rates equivalent to SES Grade 3 $26.37/hr plus 25% casual loading!

About the Opportunity

A General Hand with Flourish Australia’s Community Businesses is required to work alongside supported employees and to act as a role model for people with diverse levels of skills and expertise. To achieve this, you will be required to ensure that efficient and quality work is carried out whilst also ensuring supported employee and business service satisfaction.

This is a hands-on and diverse role requiring you to complete a variety of work in areas relating to warehousing, grounds maintenance, general labouring, and courier services.

  • Product: to provide a range of commercial industry-standard products that meet the expectations and needs of targeted markets.
  • Support: to increase awareness of mental health issues and to encourage businesses to support the Community Businesses.

Selection Criteria

  • Ability to work empathetically with persons with a mental health issues or psychosocial disability.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Sound written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to motivate and assist team members.
  • Current NSW drivers licence.

Desirable:

  • A personal lived experience of a mental health issue.

All appointments with Flourish Australia's Mental Health Services are subject to an NDIS Worker Screening clearance, a National Criminal History Check, a WWCC, previous employment reference checks, satisfactory Australian residency status and other background checks. All successful applicants will be required to declare any private or secondary employment prior to commencement in line with Flourish Australia's Private or Secondary Employment Policy.
