headspace Bankstown has an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced Clinical and Operations Manager to oversee our established team!
The position available is:
- Full-time (76 hours per fortnight)
- Working Monday to Friday
- Based in Bankstown
- Attractive remuneration package from $106k - $136k p.a. (commensurate with experience) + 12% Super + Salary Packaging!
About the Opportunity
The headspace Clinical and Operations Manager will facilitate excellence in integrated holistic health care, with the goal of improving outcomes for young people accessing the service, their families and the wider community. They will work closely and collaboratively with other members of the Flourish Australia team, ensuring all activities are in accordance with the Grant Agreement and direction provided by the CEO, headspace Consortium and Youth Reference Group.
The headspace Clinical and Operations Manager, under the direction of the Senior Clinical Manager, leads, develops, implements, oversees and manages the operations, and the future growth and development of the headspace Bankstown centre.
As a part of this role, you will;

Lead, develop, oversee implementation & evaluate delivery of services to young people (12-25 years) and their families/carers, in accordance with the ‘headspace’ Trademark Licence Deed with headspace National, including:
- Early detection and intervention of mental health problems and substance use disorders;
- Community awareness programs;
- Education and training activities; and
- Programs for social recovery and economic participation;
- Foster a culture of excellence and collaboration across clinicians, private practitioners, consortium staff and students to maintain a supportive team environment.
- Promote evidence-based clinical practice, facilitate regular clinical review meetings and multi-disciplinary team meetings, and guide clinical decision-making process regarding the care of young people.
- Overseeing and managing the headspace service to engage relevant sectors and partners in an integrated model of care
- Manage all aspects of the team and individual staff members, including recruitment, staff orientation, supervision, performance reviews, staff disciplinary action, performance development and team building.
- Working as a member of the leadership team, ensure that the operation of the headspace centre is in accordance with the strategic goals, vision and mission of Flourish Australia.

headspace is the National Youth Mental Health Foundation supporting young people aged 12-25 years with their mental & general health care needs. One in four young people have experienced a mental health issue in the past 12 months – a higher prevalence than all other age groups. headspace provides early intervention mental health services to young people who present with mental health issues, along with assistance in promoting young peoples’ wellbeing. This covers four core areas: mental health, physical health, work and study support and alcohol and other drug services.

Selection Criteria
Essential:
- Current full AHPRA registration as a clinical psychologist, registered psychologist, registered mental health nurse or occupational therapist, or a qualified social worker with membership of the AASW.
- Demonstrated experience in direct service provision to young people and/or providing mental health services or programs, including being able to respond effectively to crisis and high-risk situations, when required.
- Understanding of the Australian health care system and key issues relevant to primary health care particularly in relation to the health and wellbeing needs of young people with mental health and/or substance use problems
- Demonstrated skills in health services management including planning for and delivering on team objectives and deliverables, monitoring and maintaining team performance, ensure role clarity and accountability and facilitating collaboration.
- Demonstrated understanding of the principles of accountability systems, and continuous quality improvement processes, including the utilisation of data systems, the development and implementation of policies and procedures, and the use of evaluation and risk management tools.
Desirable:
- A carer role or having a lived experience of a personal mental health issue.
- Knowledge of Bankstown youth/health sectors.
- Post graduate qualifications in business or health services management.
- Experience in private practice settings and eligibility to register with Medicare Australia.
