About this Opportunity
The Lead Systems & Network Engineer is a senior position within the Digital and Information Technology team that manages the organisation's IT infrastructure, ensuring it is reliable, scalable, and secure. This hands-on role designs and supports Microsoft 365, network infrastructure, cybersecurity, and cloud environments, DevOps Pipeline, cloud infrastructure automation while overseeing IT projects from initiation to delivery.
The Lead Systems & Network Engineer will lead the IT infrastructure roadmap design and execution. As the final escalation point for complex technical issues, this position mentors team members and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders. It also involves working closely with suppliers and cross-functional teams to align services with business goals.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide expert guidance to other IT engineers and ensure minimal disruption during upgrades and maintenance.
- Conduct patching and vulnerability management of systems.
- Lead the design, implementation, migration, security and maintenance of IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, storage and cloud environments (Azure, M365).
- Develop and maintain business cases, project plans, including scope, timeline, schedule and budget management.
- Lead, mentor and develop team members, increasing their capability, providing professional development and ensuring outcomes and deadlines are met effectively.
- Identify opportunities for improvement in IT operations, implementing new systems and processes where necessary.

Selection Criteria
Essential:
- At least 5+ years of hands-on experience in systems engineering, with a focus on Microsoft 365, Azure, Linux, Windows Server, MS Exchange, network infrastructure and devices, Active Directory, integrations and cybersecurity.
- At least 3+ years of experience leading a systems and network engineering team in cloud and on-premise.
- Proven experience in design and successful execution of cloud infrastructure and ISMS in Healthcare or similar industry.
- Experience with Essential8 framework, VMware, Intunes, Jamf, PRTG, Fortigate, Forcepoint, Linux, macOS, enterprise wireless solutions, SIEM.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience in Azure DevOps, Power Automate and IaC.
- Proven experience in dealing with cybersecurity incidents and crisis management.
- Demonstrate experience in planning and delivering IT infrastructure projects.
- Demonstrated expertise in managing large-scale cybersecurity incidents and effectively handling crisis situations related to data breaches, along with a strong understanding of cybersecurity principles for modern network architecture and maintenance.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders and suppliers.
- Certifications such as MCSA, MCSE, CISSP, Azure.
Desirable:
- A carer role or lived experience of a mental health issue.
- A+/Network+, project management certifications.
- Knowledge of ITIL processes, including Incident, Problem, Change, Release, and Configuration management.
- Current Australian Driver’s Licence.
