Flourish Australia has an exciting opportunity for an IT Project Officer to join our Support Hub team at Sydney Olympic Park!
The position available is:
- Full-time (76 hrs/fortnight)
- Working Monday to Friday
- Based at our Support Hub in Sydney Olympic Park (flexible work from home arrangements available)

About the Opportunity
The IT Project Officer has a key role in ensuring the successful delivery of digital and IT projects by supporting all phases of project execution, from planning to completion. Reporting to and working closely with the General Manager, Digital & Technology, this position ensures that project activities are coordinated effectively, timelines are met and resources are managed efficiently, in line with organisational and team goals.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing project schedules, risk and issue tracking, stakeholder communication, and supporting project administration across various initiatives.
The IT Project Officer collaborates closely with internal teams, external partners, and stakeholders, ensuring a customer-centric approach to all interactions. By promoting a sense of urgency and accountability, this position will contribute to the ongoing success and improvement of technology project management practices within the organisation.
Main responsibilities include:
- Design, plan, deliver and coordinate digital and IT projects.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, tools and materials, monitoring project lifecycles.
- Tap into your innovative spirit to pinpoint enhancement possibilities, and contribute significantly to the upgrading, refining and application of IT policies, workflows, guidelines and systems.
- Ensuring project delivery is in accordance with the budget approved by tracking and reporting.
- Serve as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, facilitating clear and timely communication.
- Assist in identifying potential project risks and developing risk mitigation strategies.
- Ensure all project activities comply with relevant policies, procedures and regulations.

Selection Criteria
Essential:
- At least three years of proven experience in successful delivery of IT projects from initiation to completion.
- A certification or tertiary qualification in project management (e.g. Agile PRINCEZ).
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate a range of project activities while providing support to team members, with sound judgement, diplomacy and discretion.
- Proficiency in project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Planner or Jira.
- Proven experience in managing and collaborating with diverse vendors and stakeholders, facilitating workshops and project meetings, along with demonstrated expertise in change management and risk assessment.
- Flexibility and resilience to manage multiple projects and operational objectives concurrently.
- Experience in financial and governance controls, including risk, issue and dependency management.
- Ability to identify, troubleshoot and resolve project-related issues swiftly.
- Basic technical understanding of IT systems, infrastructure and data privacy.
- Experience in capturing business requirements, defining functional requirements, and creating process flow diagrams.
Desirable:
- A personal lived experience of a mental health issue or carer of a person with a lived experience.
- Working knowledge or experience in an Apple enviornment, including SaaS, PaaS, and hardware and software procurement.
- Experience using data to track project progress, measure KPIs, and inform decisions about timelines, resources or potential project risks.
- Understanding of software life cycle.
