Flourish Australia has an exciting opportunity for an Acting Manager to oversee our Disability Employment Services (DES) team!

About the position:

  • Closed-term full-time parental leave relief from 11 November 2024 until 20 June 2025
  • Working Monday to Friday
  • Located in Sydney Olympic Park, flexible working from home arrangements may be discussed with the successful applicant 
  • Level 6 on the Flourish Australia Enterprise Agreement (2018)

About the Opportunity 

As the Manager, Disability Employment Services (DES), your role is to manage the provision of effective and professional employment services to ensure a high standard of service delivery to jobseekers experiencing mental health issues under the DSS contractual requirements.

Reporting to the Regional Manager, Employment Services, you will work with people who access Flourish Australia to achieve their full potential by getting the best out of your team. You will achieve this by working with integrity and in a professional manner with the people who access Flourish Australia, your team, and interested stakeholders. 

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Managing day-to-day operations of DES
  • Acting as Flourish Australia’s primary contact for DSS
  • Providing leadership in all aspects of the operation of DES
  • Providing the team with the support required for them to enable personal growth by projecting a positive outlook, a sense of belonging, and social inclusiveness in the community.
  • Ensuring Flourish Australia’s DES program complies with contractual obligations and maintains high professional standards and 4 or 5 level ratings against the DSS Star Rating system
  • Ensuring that DES programs are delivered within the principles of the Recovery Action Framework and jobseekers are treated with dignity and respect at all times
  • Participate in regular performance reviews and prepare reports for the Senior Leadership Team

Selection Criteria

Essential:

  • Tertiary qualifications in behavioural sciences or a health related discipline.
  • At least 2-years relevant experience in a supervisory role (highly desirable)
  • Specialist skills and/or supervision/management abilities exercised within a multi-disciplinary or major single function operation
  • Demonstrated engagement, collaboration and negotiation skills, with the capability to build and maintain positive working relationships across multiple sectors with a range of organisations.
  • Advanced knowledge and demonstrated experience working within contractual guidelines.
  • Able to provide a demonstrated understanding of the challenges faced by people with a lived experience of mental health issues and how providing a person led recovery-oriented service is of benefit to people.
  • Current Drivers Licence
