The headspace team are looking for a motivated and passionate Practice Manager to provide support to our Parramatta and Castle Hill offices!
The parental leave relief position is:
- Closed-term Full-time from 6 May 2024 to 31 March 2025
- Flexible working arrangements can be negotiated with preferred candidate, part-time will also be considered
- Working Monday to Friday
- Flexibility to be based at our Parramatta or Castle Hill office (with travel required between both sites)
- Attractive hourly rates equivalent to $34.25-$35.74/hr + 11% Super + Tax-Free Salary Packaging
About the Opportunity
headspace is the National Youth Mental Health Foundation supporting young people aged 12-25 years with their mental & general health care needs. At headspace we provide young people with the opportunity to seek help early by bringing local health services under the one roof, making it easier for young people and their families to find the information they need.
As the headspace Practice Manager, you will work under the direction of the Clinical & Operations Manager, to provide office management and administrative support functions for the headspace teams at Parramatta and Castle Hill.
On a day-to-day basis, you will:
- Provide office management and administrative support to headspace operations
- Coordinate the recruitment and induction of new headspace staff
- Ensure appropriate documentation for credentialing, registration, insurance & service agreements of private practitioners
- Ensure accuracy and confidentiality of medical & client records
- Oversee daily financial operations, including conducting Medicare billing reviews, reconciliation of invoices, delivering invoices and creating reports
- Be responsible for the administration of internal & external audits of staff files & service delivery etc

Selection Criteria
Essential:
- Possession of tertiary qualifications in business management, administration, finance, or human resources.
- Have a minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role(s).
- Are able to demonstrate an in depth knowledge of allied health/ medical practice management.
- Have excellent understanding and knowledge of Medicare billing, Electronic Medical Records, and the Australian health system.
- Able to demonstrate the importance of and have a clear and strong understanding of the value of team work.
- Have an understanding of recovery focused and family inclusive practice.
- Have excellent interpersonal and communication.
- Able to demonstrate a flexible approach to service delivery.
- Have a high degree of computer literacy, including demonstrated experience with report writing and electronic client information management systems.
Desirable:
- Understanding of the Australian health care system, key issues in primary health care, the mental health service system, including the range of professionals that work within, or come into contact with, the mental health sector.
- Knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, policies and strategic directions of private allied health services.
- Knowledge of youth / health / medical sectors.
- Experience in private practice settings.
