Brand new exciting opportunity for a Clinical and Operations Manager to join our new Queanbeyan Rural Mental Health Hub!
This position available is:
- Closed-term full-time until 30 June 2025
- Working Monday to Friday
- Overseeing our brand new program based in Queanbeyan
- Attractive remuneration package from $99,500 to $127,000 p.a. (commensurate with experience and qualifications) with generous leave provisions and tax-free salary benefits!
About the Role
The Clinical and Operations Manager will work under the direction of the Regional Manager and will lead, develop, implement, oversee and manage the operations, and the future growth and development of the Queanbeyan Mental Health Hub. They will be responsible for ensuring clinical procedures are well established and followed.
The Clinical and Operations Manager will facilitate excellence in integrated holistic health care, with the goal of improving outcomes for people accessing the service, their families and the wider community. They will work closely and collaboratively with other members of the Flourish Australia team, ensuring all activities are in accordance with the Grant Agreement and direction provided by the CEO.
On a day-to-day basis, you will be:

Provide supervision and leadership to clinical staff, non-clinical staff & staff with a lived experience of mental health issues

Monitor staff performance and development
- Lead, develop, oversee implementation & evaluate delivery of services to the people accessing the service and their families/carers including:
- Early detection and intervention of mental health problems and substance use disorders;
- Community awareness programs;
- Education and training activities; and
- Programs for social recovery and economic participation;
- Oversee the day-to-day clinical operation of the service.
- Promote evidence-based clinical practice, facilitate regular clinical review meetings and multi-disciplinary team meetings, and demonstrate active leadership in the clinical decision-making process regarding the care of the people attending the centre.
- Developing, implementing and evaluating the delivery of services to promote excellence in mental health and support services
- Overseeing the implementation of clinical services and contributing to program/research development to ensure service integrity and quality
- Working as a member of the leadership team, ensure that the operation of the Mental Health Hub is in accordance with the strategic goals, vision and mission of Flourish Australia and contractual performance required for Primary Health Network.

Selection Criteria
Essential:
- Possession of tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, Nursing, Occupational Therapy or other allied health discipline recognised by the tertiary mental health services sector, and eligibility for membership of an appropriate professional body; and eligibility to register with Medicare Australia as an MBS Primary Care provider or an Allied Mental Health Professional provider.
- Demonstrated experience and ability to effectively lead and report on complex planning and service development processes, including the utilisation of project management and organisational development methodologies.
- Demonstrated experience and ability to manage and develop operational systems for a health or community services organisation, including effectively planning and allocating resources in order to maximise operational efficiency and meet funding deliverables.
- Demonstrated capacity to effectively engage in leadership and management processes, including multidisciplinary and/or cross sector initiatives, and partnerships with a wide range of professionals, organisations and stakeholders.
- Experience in direct service provision providing mental health services or programs, including being able to respond effectively to crisis and high-risk situations, when required.
- Understanding of the Australian health care system, key issues in primary health care, the mental health service system, including the range of professionals that work within, or come into contact with, the mental health sector.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of local health sectors.
- Post graduate qualifications in business or health services management.
- Experience in private practice settings.
- A current driver’s licence.
