About the Opportunity 

Flourish Australia is embarking on a ‘Digital Transformation Program’ of work. The Senior IT Project Manager is responsible for leading teams to deliver programs and projects that span across one or more business units and across a portfolio of programs. You will play a key role in setting up the Digital Transformation Program including establishing a project management discipline, the ‘Transformation Office’, project management processes and documentation.

You will manage resources, schedules, financials and adhere to stage gate quality and system development life cycle (SDLC) control guidelines throughout the full systems development life cycle for IT projects. This also includes management of issues, risks, and project change requests to ensure successful and on-time project delivery.

The key tasks and responsibilities will include but is not limited to

  • Lead and manage the Flourish Australia ‘Digital Transformation Program’ of work. This is a portfolio of programs and projects that span multiple lines of the business and business systems
  • Provide leadership and guidance to project teams by building and motivating team members to meet project goals, adhering to their responsibilities and project milestones
  • Full program and project life cycle ownership: successful project delivery will include full implementation from initiation to deployment for several major and minor initiatives simultaneously
  • Create and maintain project schedules by developing project plans and specifications, estimating time and resources, monitoring milestone completion, tracking all phases of the project lifecycle, providing timely reporting of issues that impact project progress, coordinating actions and resolving conflicts
  • Create and maintain issue logs, meeting minutes, meeting schedules, project summaries and updates
  • Report on project success criteria results, metrics, test, and deployment management activities
  • Ensures the practices, templates, policies, tools, and other elements required to set up a Transformation Office to support the IT and business changes reflect industry best practice
  • Manage the day-to-day project activities and resources and chair team meetings
  • Provide status reporting regarding project milestones, deliverable, dependencies, risks, and issues, communicating across leadership
  • Lead feasibility studies, vendor selections and proposals for evaluation by appropriate key stakeholders
  • Define the Statement of Work and Specifications for requesting goods and services with vendors and consultants
  • Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project and program teams

About You

We are in the initial stages of creating this team and as a result we are looking for an experienced professional who can hit the ground running. An ideal candidate would:

  • Be able to work independently 
  • Have excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills with experience presenting to stakeholders and / or Senior Leadership executives
  • Have experience with varying project sizes, including working on multiple projects concurrently
  • Have experience working on projects in a small to medium-sized business

It is important to note that this is a hybrid role. Working at a senior level to manage a portfolio of programs and projects, whilst reporting into the Senior Leadership Team. Additionally, as this is a small team, the position will also be required to complete hands-on day-to-day work of a project manager.

Selection Criteria

Essential:

  1. A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field of study or equivalent work experience
  2. A minimum of 5+ years of IT/digital project/ program management experience, including tracking and planning projects, working with business stakeholders within a cross-functional matrix environment in the full SDLC
  3. Demonstrated ability to deliver projects on time and on budget
  4. Proven ability to achieve results and assume ongoing accountability in a complex environment
  5. Proven ability to collaborate across multiple business areas to achieve business objectives
  6. Interpersonal skills to influence and spur change, facilitate, and enhance performance within a cross - functional environment whilst resolving business problems, making decisions, and identifying priorities

Desirable:

  1. A carer role or having a personal lived experience of a mental health issue.
  2. Current Australian Driver’s Licence.
  3. Change Management certification
  4. Not for Profit experience, Health Services or Psychosocial Services industry experience
  5. Experience working in a small to medium-sized business
