Flourish Australia has an exciting opportunity for an Administration Support Officer to join our Newcastle team!
This position is:
- Full-time (76hrs/fortnight)
- Monday to Friday
- Level 3 on the Flourish Australia Enterprise Agreement (2018)
About the Opportunity
In this role you will be responsible for a broad range of administrative support functions, reporting to the Manager and supporting various teams within the Hunter. You will demonstrate a high level of professionalism as the first point of contact to ensure a positive experience for those wishing to access Flourish Australia.
You will be a professional and emotionally intelligent individual, with strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, as well as effective organisational skills, good problem solving skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality at all times. You will also be able to demonstrate a practical and optimistic approach, possess the ability to work effectively within a team environment as well as independently, and have a good degree of computer literacy.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Providing a professional reception service to the Newcastle office
- Providing general administrative and clerical support to the Hunter Cluster
- Processing referrals and enquiries in the relevant databases
- Maintaining effective communication with stakeholders at all times
- Filing, word processing, and data entry
- Handling enquiries via telephone, electronic and paper mail, fax or visitors
- Maintaining records, such as learning and development records
- Assisting with recruitment functions and coordinating meetings and events, including arranging room bookings, catering, room set up and other requirements
- Processing invoices

Selection Criteria
- A diploma or degree in office administration (or in a relevant discipline) OR relevant certificates with extensive relevant experience
- Experience in an office environment
- Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite and ability to utilise other appropriate information management systems
- Be people focused and have strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Be committed to professional and ethical conduct
- Be self-motivated, responsible and have a proactive attitude to work
- A current Australian drivers licence
Highly desirable:
- A background working in an NGO and/or mental health/disability sectors
- Current First Aid certificate
All appointments with Flourish Australia's Mental Health Services are subject to an NDIS Worker Screening clearance, a National Criminal History Check, a Working With Children Check, previous employment reference checks, satisfactory Australian residency status and other background checks.
