headspace Broken Hill is looking for an enthusiastic Youth Access Clinician to join the team!
The position available is:
- Full-time
- Monday-Friday
- Level 3 on the Flourish Australia Enterprise Agreement (2018) equivalent to $74,000+ p.a.
About the Opportunity
headspace is the National Youth Mental Health Foundation supporting young people aged 12-25 years with their mental & general health care needs. At headspace we provide young people with the opportunity to seek help early by bringing local health services under the one roof, making it easier for young people and their families to find the information they need.
In this rewarding role you will be responsible for the provision of clinical mental health services for the youth including:
- Delivering quality, evidence-based recovery focused mental health services including assessments, individualised person-centered planning and coordination, therapeutic interventions and specialised career development services.
- Identifying and implementing community based activities that will support the social and emotional well being of the young person on their recovery journey
- Offering initial education and guidance on routine clinical matters
- Providing support and information to family and significant others, by engaging in telephone and/or face-to-face contact with families of young people
- Promoting family involvement in treatment planning through collaboration with the headspace team
Flourish Australia is seeking to employ a proactive and motivated individual, who enjoys both teamwork and working autonomously. The successful candidate will have experience working within the Mental Health sector combined with relevant qualifications. You must also be currently registered, or be actively working towards registration (National or State) as a Psychologist, Occupational Therapist, Social Worker, Mental Health Nurse or other allied health professional.

Selection Criteria
Essential:
- Possess tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, Nursing, Occupational Therapy or other allied health discipline recognised by the tertiary mental health services sector
- Have relevant experience working with youth
- Are able to demonstrate an in depth knowledge of recovery focused practice
- Have a clear understanding and/or knowledge of the concept and impact of mental health in the community
- Are able to demonstrate the importance of, and have a clear and strong understanding of, the value of team work
- Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and an ability to impart knowledge in a learning environment
- Have a high degree of computer literacy, including demonstrated experience with report writing and electronic client information management systems
- Hold a valid current driver's licence
Highly desirable:
- Experience supporting persons with alcohol and other drugs support needs

Please note - Successful candidates must maintain a Class C drivers license and proof of comprehensive insurance must be provided when required. You may be directed to use your private motor vehicle in the course of performing your duties when an organisational pool motor vehicle is unavailable. You will receive the Travelling Transport and Fares Allowance when using your private vehicle for work related purposes.
