Compliance, Claims and Risk Officer

Flourish Australia has an exciting opportunity for a Compliance, Claims and Risk Officer to join the team!

This is a 6-month closed-term full-time maternity relief position with the opportunity to work remotely. The successful candidate will be working Monday to Friday and will be classified at Level 4 on the Flourish Australia Enterprise Agreement (2018).

About the Opportunity

The Compliance, Claims and Risk Officer ensures that Flourish Australia conducts its business in full compliance with the Disability Employment Services (DES) Deed, its relevant guidelines, as well as professional standards, internal standards and professional standards. You will identify and assess areas of risk to profitability, advise on potential risks and implement strategies to avoid, reduce or transfer risks. This role supports the DES Program Manager and the General Manager, Employment as required and provides mentorship to the Employment Coordinators and DES team.

As the Compliance, Claims and Risk Officer, you will be responsible for the lodgement, evaluation and tracking of claims to ensure that claims comply with the necessary requirements. You will also be responsible for conducting desktop audits and the preparation of DES claims and Outcome reports to ensure transparency of compliance and claims issues. You will be required to undertake an audit function for the organisation’s National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) claims. This involves the sampling of claims against recorded service events and Service Agreements.

Selection Criteria

Essential:

  1. 5 years experience within Commonwealth-funded employment services, preferably in Disability Employment Services, Job Active, Transition to Work or similar programs.
  2. Strong communication skills and excellent interpersonal organisational skills.
  3. Proven customer service experience with demonstrable facilitation, presentation, mentoring and training skills.
  4. Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite and the client information management system.
  5. Current Australian Driver’s Licence.

Desirable:

  1. Qualifications in training and assessment, employment services, or related fields.
  2. Experience in an NDIS claims environment
  3. Knowledge of the challenges and barriers people who live with mental health issues face in entering the workforce.
  4. Experience working with youth.
  5. A carer role or having a lived experience.
